"I gave up my family to follow Jesus, and all I got in return was meetings!" exclaimed one brother.

Helping churches understand and overcome cultural differences to truly welcome and include BMBs is a key part of our vision. We long to see the church welcoming, integrating and becoming family together regardless of nationality and background.

We have seen how churches are enriched by receiving our BMB brothers and sisters and their gifts into the family. Their unique experiences, often of persecution-tested faith, bring a new perspective to worship and Bible study and encouragement to western Christians too:

“I helped by serving in the worship. It was amazing that the pastor trusted me and gave me the responsibility. I was overwhelmed at first. While I was leading I was learning and experiencing new things.” – S

“People from non-western societies have a natural cultural understanding of the Bible that we don’t have, as it is closer to their home culture than ours. Therefore they can bring a richness in opening up the cultural dynamics of what is going on, its very enriching. [They contribute] a simple cultural observation that we would have missed.” – Church pastor

“When Iranians become Christians they can become good evangelists! They can’t hold back the personal experience, they are bold to share it. I think that this boldness can help the western church in reaching out to other nationalities and even their own people! Because of political correctness, other westerners don’t freely share the gospel, but converts who are not from here can share it with all others. Iranians can be effective in bringing alive the great commission in the western church.” – R

“I found out that the eastern culture is close to the culture of the Bible. I was amazed that my Afghan culture is so rich and so close to the cultures of the Old Testament, and I see Jesus in every page there.” - J
