Five years of God’s provision

 

In 2019 Word of Life reformed around a vision for BMB discipleship research, resources and courses. Since then we've seen God at work across our tracks of ministry and throughout the world.

In this time we've seen new resources created, new initiatives launched, new partnerships begun  and many new brothers and sisters enabled to grow in understanding and maturity.

 

We celebrate that our director Tim Green responded to the call of the Holy Spirit to gather a team which became the first global organization explicitly and solely focused on BMB discipleship.

We celebrate that the first BMB core discipleship resource, Come Follow Me (which incidentally reached the ten year mark recently too), and training to use it is available across multiple languages and suitable for different BMB cultural backgrounds. Books are now available in (soon to be) 31 languages, accessible through a global network of translation and publication partners, including on-demand printing almost anywhere in the world.

We celebrate that being aware that owning Christian books is not safe everywhere, we developed and launched a multilingual app for discipleship resources, which can be accessed globally, especially for use in high-security and high-risk locations. Enabling audio versions of courses for oral cultures is our latest project.

We celebrate that alongside BMB discipleship materials, Word of Life provides a home for the team working to develop the ideas, training and discussion around the Joining the Family resources. This was the first resource written for the Western church to help understand and embrace BMBs within their fellowships. The next phase is contextualisation and internationalisation, and we’re excited about all God is doing in this space around the global church.

We celebrate that God has led us to work with partners to launch the Hikma Partnership, formed from the first gathering of BMB researchers and organisations committed to BMB-led research into BMB discipleship issues and continuing in collaboration in research and dissemination of discipleship research and resources.

We celebrate that God has led us to work with partners to launch the Paths of Life network, after the first known gathering of organisations committed to development of BMB discipleship resources, which now works to share resources and to co-develop a curriculum of BMB discipleship resources for use across languages and cultures.

 

As we reflect and give thanks for all the ways God has blessed us in these five years, we also look to him to provide what we need for a growing vision and expanding projects.
