Getting discipleship tools to those who are hungry for more of Jesus
“Amongst other work this year, we have celebrated the launch of our Come Follow Me course in Urdu, the heart language of 90 million people worldwide, and of the Somali audio course on our GrowSpace platform, making this training more accessible to an oral culture," writes the track leader Jenni.
"Praise God for his provision and the expertise of partners and volunteers in these projects. Next year we will continue expanding CFM, as well as piloting and publishing two new courses written by, with and for BMB brothers and sisters."
One of our key values is transformational discipleship, and our team has years of experience in the world of theological education. The popular Come Follow Me course is helping new believers across the world transition from their Islamic worldview into a greater understanding of their new faith. We continue to receive testimonies of the impact of the course, such as:
“Our group loved the small stories, the conversations, which illustrate a point and felt that they really helped root the teaching into life issues.”
“CFM spoke to my heart and really helped to form my understanding as a new believer, and so I encourage my friends to do it and my church to use it with new BMBs.”
“It was very encouraging for me that the course meetings created a really good relationship between [two different nationalities], and both overcame their prejudices to learn together.”

In the last five years we have invested in developing the GrowSpace app, as a platform for accessing Come Follow Me and other discipleship courses in places where books are not available or a security risk. It’s been a joy to hear of believers in difficult-to-reach areas like Afghanistan and Somalia accessing materials in their own language in this way. Please pray for secret and hidden believers who use GrowSpace to meet with God and grow in their faith because of this tool.

Alongside providing the course materials, we believe in training leaders to ensure groups get the best experience. Our training covers developing a vision for the group, exploring the course methodology, understanding how to use the materials effectively and some ‘cultural clues’ for non BMB leaders.
Over the last few years we have developed a process for translation to publication which includes making the training available in new CFM languages too, as Valentina explains:
“We are preparing to launch the Hausa translation in northern Nigeria with training for advisors to use the course and new facilitators to keep helping new believers access training. Providing starter training with a new language publication helps us share the vision, methodology and best practice for a ‘study-discuss-apply’ course like this.”
