Joining the Family celebrates 10 years – come and celebrate with us
This year marks 10 years since the launch of Joining the Family, and we’d love you to celebrate with us.
The story actually began several years before the launch. Initial work started in 2010, when Tim, Phil and others came together and began running live seminars. By 2013, work had begun on designing and filming the course, followed by editing, piloting and writing the book. All of this laid the groundwork for the launch of Joining the Family in 2016.
Since then, the journey has taken JtF into places and contexts that those involved at the beginning may not always have known about.
A story we only discovered years later
Around 2018, a mission worker travelled with the first JtF pack, containing the book and video course on a JtF-labelled flash drive.
Years later, the JtF team discovered that the course had been in use there since then.
It makes us wonder how many more JtF stories there are that we simply haven’t heard yet.
Over the years, JtF has also been used in different countries and settings. The materials have been translated into other languages, courses have been offered online, and new and contextualised materials have been developed.
And now, ten years on from the launch, it feels like a good moment to stop, give thanks and come together.
Come and celebrate with us
On 8 and 9 October, we’re bringing the JtF community together online to celebrate the past 10 years.
It won’t just be about looking back. We want this to be a space to reconnect, hear stories from across the JtF community, share what we’re learning, talk together about challenges and exchange ideas for the future.
Whether you’ve been part of JtF for years, have used the materials in your church or ministry, or are newer to JtF and would like to connect with the community, we’d love you to join us.

The gathering will take place online. We’re running it twice so that people in different time zones have an opportunity to join.
