Joining the Family
Joining the Family is an initiative to help churches welcome, understand, love, equip and learn from believers of Muslim background.
Growing numbers of Muslims from a variety of ethnic backgrounds are choosing to follow Jesus Christ. They want to join Christ’s community, whether in traditional churches, or in same background fellowships - sometimes both simultaneously.
We long for these precious believers to find a welcome and sense of family, grow and thrive as disciples, and bless others through their gifts and experience. Churches need to understand their needs, care for them and support them through their growth in Christ. We also want to, and need to, learn from them. Their insights can help us to grow in our faith, and their journey will help the church prepare for a day when multitudes will come into our family.
Will you join us in seeing this become a reality?
"This excellent book is just what the church needs to help us catch up with the remarkable work God is doing in bringing people from Muslim backgrounds to Christ and to equip us to play our part in helping them grow with us as fellow members of his family." - Vaughan Roberts, Rector of St Ebbe's and Director of Proclamation Trust
"What a huge joy to know that some (Muslims) are coming to Jesus and we must go the extra mile to love them, encourage them and work with them in any way possible. This important book can help us do just that." - George Verwer, Founder of OM
"This book generates two wishes: one, that it will be absorbed by God's people who are motivated to effectively love their brethren cast out of their Muslim families and two, that this book would have been produced and widely distributed decades ago!" - Greg Livingstone, Founder of Frontiers
The Joining the Family course is for anyone who wants to know more about the experiences of believers from a Muslim background when they join a church family.
Through our video content you will hear directly from some of our brothers and sisters about their experiences, and be equipped to build strong friendships so you can grow in Christ together.
The course is available as a DVD pack and as a downloadable pack from our partners at Interserve in their Kitab shop.
We also run regular online courses as a taster to help those investigating what it means to become a church that is shaped by and more fully reflects the different cultures of its members, and to build confidence to go on to lead this course with others in the local community later.
